What Does It Mean When A Rabbit Makes A Soft Grunt Noise? Or When His Ears Moves Up Or Down?

I have a rabbit. He is very friendly and acts more like a dog. Follows me around the house and everything. I used to think he didnt make any noise. But when it is really quiet I can hear him making a soft grunting noise.
Also sometimes his ears are standing staight up and sometimes they are back. What makes the differnce? Are they saying what kinda mood he is in? If so which ear motion means what?

Plants absorb nutrients and water through their roots. They contain vascular tissues (xylem), which transports water up from the roots to the leaves, and phloem. The major path for water movement into plants is from soil to roots. Water enters near the tip of a growing root, the same region where root hairs grow. The surface of the root hairs needs to be in close contact with the soil to access soil water. Water diffuses into the root, where it can take at least three different pathways to eventually reach the xylem, the conduit located at the interior of the root that carries the soil water to the leaves.
Once water has entered a root hair, it must move across the cortex and endodermis before it reaches the xylem. Water will take the path of least resistance through a root to reach the xylem.
